Deliver a briefing report which gives an overview of the initial stage implementation of the online geriatrics training resource website (Geri-U) including scope and analysis; interface and interaction design; and development of the core text content. Deliver a report involving 1st year and 2nd year medical students detailing the development of the active elders chairside chat cards including the convening of faculty/elder group for topic selection; creating preliminary content cards; the use of test card with 4th year student/elder evaluation; development of life. Review guidelines with faculty in creating the life review scrapbook kit; convening the faculty for topic selection with respect to the psychosocial challenges curriculum. |

Deliver a report indicating the curriculum used by internal medicine residents involving a mandatory 4-week rotation in nursing home and in-home care training beginning on the provider’s campus. Deliver a report reflecting the development of the care team involving Internal Medicine residents at the Veteran’s Administration Acute Geriatric Unit; include the linkage between the acute geriatric unit and the subacute care unit. Deliver a report outlining the activities of Internal Medicine residents at the provider’s campus as it relates to the pilot project particularly the dissemination of the teaching nursing home program to families, patients, and caregivers; the results of organizing staff and faculty to incorpo Internal Medicine residents into the teaching nursing home program. Develop a report that would incorporate the activities of Internal Medicine residents at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ambulatory Care Unit including the designation of social worker, and clerk. Develop a report regarding the activities of the Internal Medicine residents developing the Veteran’s Administration Home Care program including the development of the home care faculty; dissemination of introductory letters to eligible Home Based Primary Care patients as well as signing up Home Based Primary Care patients; and the development of the general medicine faculty as it involves the VA Home Care program. Submit outline of program, list of attendees, and topics of discussion of annual retreat which brought together geriatrics curriculum directors amd other interested parties. |
Deliver a report on the expansion efforts of core content and attitude, skills and knowledge testing of the Geri-U web site.

Submit a final evaluation report of the pilot project for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2001 and include a list of activities for the following fiscal year ending June 30, 2002. Submit the name, address, and educational history of each trainee approved and accepted for enrollment in the present teaching nursing home pilot project.
